The downfall came in Jodi Hildebrandt’s life when police arrested Ruby and Jodi on August 2023.
Jodi Hildebrandt’s neighbor pressed charges on Jodi and Ruby for aggravated child abuse.
Per the police report, Ruby’s son and daughter were found injured, dehydrated, and malnourished in Jodi’s home.
Furthermore, Ruby’s son was able to escape from the window, and the first thing the 12-year-old boy asked for was food and water.
The neighbor was able to make out something was not right, noticing the wounds on his hands and leg and duct tape in his mouth.
Following that, the neighbor called the police, and they found Ruby’s daughter in the same condition.
Police also found pieces of evidence, such as ropes and duct tape.
On further investigation, the court found Ruby and Jodi guilty. In the trial, Jodi said,
My hope and prayer is that they will heal and move forward to have beautiful lives. I am willing to submit to what the state feels would be an appropriate amount of time served to make retribution as an outcome.
With this statement, it was evident that Jodi was the culprit along with Ruby.
This left many shocked, and in disbelief as people who made videos about parenting could do such an act.
